Sports Physiotherapy

At Brighton Physiotherapy, we pride ourselves on our unrivalled experience in Sports Physiotherapy. This includes experience working with elite sporting organisations such as the AFL, Tennis Australia and the PGA Tour.

Regardless of whether you’re an elite athlete, part of a community team, or social participant, we have the expertise and experience to provide you with all the tools you need for a successful recovery after a sporting injury.

We will begin with a detailed and thorough assessment of the injury in a 45-minute initial appointment which is the amount of time we believe required to do the assessment justice.

During this appointment we will:

  1. Discuss the context of the injury and the individual’s overall health and fitness levels. This includes reviewing any existing imaging or results.

  2. Provide a diagnosis and in-depth explanation of this diagnosis including the underlying causes of your injury.

  3. Develop a personalised treatment and rehabilitation plan which fits in with your lifestyle and goals. This will include a combination of ‘hands-on’ therapy and rehabilitation to help you move well and stay well.

  4. Finally, provide strategies to optimise your recovery including possible referrals to diagnostic imaging, sports physicians or podiatry.

After your initial appointment, our thirty-minute follow-up appointments will allow you to access exceptional treatment, monitoring, and management.

As part of the rehabilitation program, we will provide you with a personalised set of fully-narrated exercise videos which you will be able to perform from the comfort of your own home, or in a gym setting. These exercises will aim to rebuild the strength of your specific sporting injury, in order to speed up your recovery and return to day-to-day activities as soon as possible.
